If that is a small number, you could create profiles for each model and assign them through a WMI query. That approach would take the decision further out from MDTs hands and closer into yours.
Very little deciding, more doing. An environment with many different makes and models would work better with an MDT setup that was as general as could be, hence allowing MDT to decide which drivers to install instead of me telling it which drivers to install.
A firmer option which would not drastically increase your administrative overhead, would be a separate task sequence for each make. Pretty safe. Thanks Jason, I work for state government and we use many different model computers. The state employees have a total of 5 models. But we contract out a lot of construction contract work. The contractor is responsible for providing the laptops for their consultants. We then image them and join them to our network.
We have 3 images basic, construction, design which each have specific software per user function. Well I tested this in windows and it worked. Had to change the executable a little in the batch file: cmd. The command line in the TS is: cmd. Have you ever tried this or can you shed some light on what I may be doing wrong? I guess is it doing recursive check or just getting drivers from the full path only.

Hello, How are you currently managing the Bytespeed drivers for Windows 7? Superb stuff. Awesome write-up. Hi, You would need to provide the full path of the driver folder s to MDT so it can find the drivers.
